KOR KWAEN is a hanger collection in which THINKK Studio traced back how Thai people design items with their wit. We often put our needs as a question and grab materials around us to create new solutions. It is fascinating to explore the different kinds of hooks that Thai vendors create to hang products in the stalls at flea markets, in the hawker stalls, in restaurants, or even in the household.
The design of KOR KWAEN is based on our need for a hanger. We had been sourcing out materials around our studio and modifying their functions. We observed how people used those materials, guessed their function, and planned to create new products with our expertise in woodworking, metalworking, and craftwork.
This project is part of a group exhibition called “The Design Instinct” by Design PLANT.
