Made in Thailand

2018

THINKK Studio unveiled our nine latest creations in Maison & Objet 2018, an amalgamation of research and experimentation with local Thai manufacturers and craftsmen that incorporated industrial processes, innovative technologies, and heritage handiworks that were passed down from centuries of artistry, such as bamboo and rattan wicker works from different communities.

Our studio intended to present an unorthodox overview of contemporary Thai designing and manufacturing landscape. The prevailing sentiment may be that of an OEM for international designers or traditional crafts.

One out of the nine designs presented was a new take on Decha Archjananun’s weight vases, which were his final project at Ecal. From concrete material produced and sold in Europe, to terrazzo prototype in Bangkok.
